Quotation of the Day

Countess vaughn
Countess Vaughn James on VH1's Raelity World

Countess Danielle Vaughn (born August 8, 1978 in Idabel, Oklahoma) is an American actress and singer, best known for her role as the zaftig Kim Parker in the television series Moesha and its spinoff The Parkers.

Vaughn began her performing career at the age of three singing at church. At age nine, she sang the Burt Bacharach and Hal David's What the World Needs Now is Love, Sweet Love to win the Star Search junior vocalist champion and overall junior champion. She claims among her musical influences gospel music singer Mahalia Jackson, jazz and blues singer Dinah Washington, and R&B and pop singer Whitney Houston.

Vaughn began her acting career in 1988 with the role of Alexandria DeWitt on 227, followed by roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Thea, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, and Roc. Vaughn auditioned for the Disney TV series The New Mickey Mouse Club, but did not make it. She also perfomed in several television specials including the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars, Magical World of Disney, the Orange Bowl Parade, the Easter Seals Telethon. Outside of television, she performed in the off-Broadway musical Mama, I Want to Sing, Part 2. In 1998, Vaughn was honored with an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in Moesha. In 1992, Vaughn released her first album, Countess, featuring a variety of songs, including dance music and ballads. In 2003, Vaughn and husband Joseph James had their first child, a boy named Jaylen James.

Vaughn appeared in the third season of Celebrity Fit Club that aired in January 2006 on VH1. On episode four, she revealed she and James were undergoing a divorce. During the course of the show, she became the first cast member to ever gain weight, with a weight gain of 4 pounds. It was said on the season finale that she was simply trying to lose weight at the wrong time.

Statics on Countess

  • Vaughn is 147 cm (4 ft 10 in) tall.
  • Has had a feud rivalry with Brandy Norwood. While doing the series "Moesha".
  • Is only 9 years younger that Mo'Nique.
  • Is now going through a divorce with her ex-husband, Joseph James.
  • Attends to appear on more shows/movies. And attends to live in normal life too.

Rivals

  • When Countess Vaughn was doing the series 'Moesha' with Brandy Norwood,it was rumors about her and Brandy not getting along with each other. The day when rumors atarted rising tentions that Countess called Brandy a "b----!" and Brandy spelled Countess name backwards and stuff, drew Countess to the draw of having her own show with Mo'Nique to call it The Parkers. In 1999, the backdoor pilot for the series "Mo'Nique" which was later named "The Parkers" aired and became a hit that it was giving a series from that Moesha episode. Brandy was not even at all seen in the episode except from the intro to the outro of the episode. When the series was actually ready to air in August, it was doing just well, that Moesha started slsacking up that there episodes were turned into a drama/soap-opera. Then at that time when the show came to there 100th episode party, Countess attended but didn't speak about the series at all. The rivalry between her and Brandy is more serious then ever. Then to put things over a side, a reunion for the two was giving when Sheryl Lee Ralph gave Countess some flowers for her sucess on the series "The Parkers" and Brandy with a card of congragulations card to Countess, things were ended. But when Moesha ended in 2001 with a cliffhanger, all hopes for "The Parkers" to responce to the errors and situations was to no avail of any kind.
